How we measure
We use careful, standard methods to test what the AI assistants recommend, and to confirm it. We ask the questions real travellers ask about Southern Africa, the same way every month, so the results can be compared over time.
We record which businesses the assistants name, and where they send the traveller: the business’s own website, a booking site, an agent, or a list.
We never place anyone on the Index, and nobody can pay to appear. We never publish that a business was not named; an owner sees that only on their own report card.
AI answers change from day to day, so read the Index as a trend over months, not a precise score.
Check it yourself: ask an assistant the same kind of question. You won’t get the same words, but over time you’ll see the same names.
