FAQ

Can I just do this myself with ChatGPT?

Some of it, yes, and if you have the time we’ll happily tell you which parts. ChatGPT will write you a lovely About page. What it won’t do is tell you whether anything worked. For that you need the same questions put to every major assistant, again and again, every month, and compared with every other place in your area. That’s a lot of evenings. It’s also our whole job.

Does it work if my website is on Wix, Squarespace or something my nephew built?

Yes. On WordPress we use a plugin. On Wix, Squarespace and most other builders we send you ready-made blocks to paste in, which takes about ten minutes. If an agency looks after your site, we send them everything with a one-page brief. No website at all? Your verified page with us does the job.

Do you take bookings or payments?

No. Never. Guests enquire with you directly, and you take the booking the way you always do. We’re not another middleman. That’s rather the point.

Will you guarantee me more bookings?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls what an AI says. What we do is make your place clear enough that AI can recommend it with confidence, then show you every month whether it does and which enquiries came from it.

Why was my neighbour named and I wasn’t?

Usually it comes down to three things: their rates are on their website, their facts are clear and the same everywhere, and other sites say good things about them. None of that needs a big budget. Your free report card shows you who AI picks in your area and what they have that you don’t, yet.

Can I pay to appear on the Index?

No. Nobody can, not even our customers. A place appears only when an assistant names it. If we sold spots, the scoreboard would be worthless, and so would we.

Is this just for safari lodges?

Not at all. Guesthouses, B&Bs, boutique hotels, wine farm stays, self-catering cottages, coastal and mountain lodges, safari lodges and tour operators. If you’re independent and travellers can enquire with you directly, you’re who we’re for.

How much of my time does it take?

About 15 minutes to start: upload your rate sheet and paste a few links. A week later, 15 to 20 minutes on your phone ticking your facts and approving pages. After that, only when something changes. We do the rest.

What happens if I stop?

Give us 30 days’ notice. Your pages stay up for 90 days, then come down, and you get every page as a file to keep. No contract, no awkward phone call.

Is this just SEO with a new name?

It’s related, and the good news is the same work helps Google too. The difference is what we measure: not where you rank in a list of links, but whether an AI assistant names you when a traveller asks it where to stay. And we show you the answer every month.
